Chemin de Fer is possibly one of the more well-known games bet on in betting houses. Black jack is also known as 21 or Chemin de Fer. The game is a combination of luck and ability coupled with choices. The card game has evolved over a set amount of time. Players have specialized in certain skills like "card card counting," which allows them to turn the odds of the game in the players favor. The game has been around since the 18th century. References can be found in historical documents to a card game referred to as "vingt-et-un," which in French means Twenty One, and is considered the ancestor to blackjack.
The game was initially not so well-liked in the states. This led to the gambling houses trying different features like offering a reward in case of a ten to one pay out, if the player was dealt an ace of spades and a black jack. The jack could be either the jack of clubs or jack of spades. After the game became well-known, the bonus payout before long disappeared from the rules.
Any hand which reaches a value of twenty one is considered a winner. The total should not exceed twenty-one, if it does the hand is said to be "bust." The target of every player is to best the casino. If the black jack player and the house both have the same score, it’s referred to as a "push" (a tie), with neither the blackjack player nor the casino coming away with a win on the hand.
